BUTOLPOST – The Indonesian government has positively welcomed the two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, which also opens up opportunities to restore shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yvonne Mewengkang, stated that this step was a strong signal of the openness of both parties to pursue diplomacy.
“Indonesia sees this momentum as a positive start, and encourages this opportunity to be utilized optimally for a sustainable peaceful resolution,” he said in Jakarta, Wednesday (8/4).
According to him, dialogue and diplomacy remain the only way to end the protracted conflict in the Gulf region.
