JABAR PR – The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed support for the United States’ decision to suspend attacks on Iran for two weeks. However, Israel explicitly emphasized that the ceasefire did not apply to their military operations in Lebanon.

Through a statement on the X platform on Wednesday, April 8 2026, Netanyahu called President Donald Trump’s steps a crucial effort to ensure that Iran no longer poses a nuclear, missile and terror threat to the world. However, one-sided claims emerged regarding the scope of the ceasefire area.

“This two-week ceasefire does not include Lebanon,” Netanyahu stressed.

This statement is in contrast to the previous announcement by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif. Sharif, as mediator, stated that all the conflicting parties had agreed to an immediate ceasefire in “the entire region, including Lebanon and elsewhere.”
