CIREBON NEWS – Tankers that can cross the Strait of Hormuz are not yet 100 percent safe. A number of tankers remain under threat from drone and missile attacks.

This is also what happened to a South Korean cargo ship that was about to cross the Strait of Hormuz. Regarding this incident, South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun has asked Iran for an explanation.

During a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Cho Hyun urged an investigation into the attack on a South Korean cargo ship.

A South Korean official previously said it was unlikely anyone outside Iran was behind the attack.

Previously, Iran emphasized that it would soon reveal its plans to regulate traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, including the imposition of toll fees.

Tehran maintains that the strait is open to all ships except those of its enemies, and any navigation through the vital passage in the strait must be coordinated with the Iranian military.

Sources say the number of ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz has increased slightly, but is still very low compared to pre-war times.

Iran also said that it was vital for the US to lift the blockade on Iranian ships as a condition that could be considered when discussing efforts to return the situation in the Strait of Hormuz to normal.

Iranian lawmaker Ebrahim Azizi said the plan involved “professional mechanisms to manage traffic in the Strait of Hormuz along designated routes”.

He said “only commercial vessels and parties cooperating with Iran will benefit” from the plan and “fees will be collected” for “special services”.

Iran’s First Vice President, Mohammad Reza Aref, said the country would not allow “enemy” military equipment to pass through the strait.

Ali Nikzad, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, previously said that Iran’s legal regime for the waterway takes into account Tehran’s conditions, international legal rules and the rights of neighboring countries.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had previously released a map showing a new control zone over the waterway and a safe route for ships to pass through the strait that is closer to the coast than the traditional route.***
