THE MIND OF THE PEOPLE β Israeli troops reportedly launched attacks again in a number of areas of the Gaza Strip in the last few hours, even though the ceasefire agreement is still in effect. The attack sparked panic among residents in several areas, especially in the southern and central areas of Gaza.
Local sources said the Israeli military carried out artillery shelling and heavy weapons fire targeting a number of areas in the eastern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip. The attacks were reportedly concentrated in the Khan Younis area as well as around the Al-Bureij refugee camp.
In the Khan Younis area, Israeli artillery hit a number of points in the eastern and southern parts of the city. Israeli military vehicles stationed near the eastern and southern borders were also reported to have fired intensively at residential areas.
The series of attacks made the situation in the southern region of Gaza tense again. Residents reportedly tried to seek shelter amid the sound of explosions and gunshots that continued to be heard.
