SABACIREBON – President of the United States, Donald Trumpannounced a temporary ceasefire agreement with Iran for two weeks, following increasing military tensions in the Middle East region.
Trump made this announcement via the Truth Social platform after intensive communication with the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Pakistan Army Staff Asim Munir. In the talks, Pakistan is said to have asked the United States to restrain the escalation of attacks against Iran.
As part of the initial agreement, Iran is reportedly willing to reopen strategic routes Strait of Hormuz fully, safely and without hindrance. This route is one of the vital routes for world oil trade.

Trump stated that his party had agreed to suspend military strikes for two weeks as a step towards de-escalating the conflict. He emphasized that this ceasefire was reciprocal between the two countries.
Furthermore, Trump claimed that the United States had achieved its military targets in operations against Iran. He also mentioned significant progress towards a long-term peace agreement in the region.
“This situation opens up a great opportunity for greater stability in the Middle East,” said Trump.
