Hi Bandung – The British government will reportedly not allow the United States (US) to use its military bases to attack civilian infrastructure in Iran.
The i Paper daily report said this decision confirmed London’s stance in avoiding involvement in attacks targeting civilian facilities.
The report, citing sources, said that London would only allow its bases to be used for defensive attacks by the US.
Not a defensive attack
Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s threat to attack civilian infrastructure in Iran cannot be called a defensive attack.
The daily also reported that any decision to allow US bombers to land on British military bases would be determined differently on a case-by-case basis.
The British air force base in Fairford is the only European military base where US strategic bombers land.
The base was also used in the bombing of Iraq and Yugoslavia in the past.
