Through this scientific competition, students and undergraduates showcased their research, innovations, and creative projects. Organized by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA) in partnership with Universitas Komputer Indonesia (Unikom), the annual event featured three distinct competitions: the National and International Invention Competition For Young Moslem Scientists (NICYMS and IICYMS), alongside the World Robotics & Computer Science Olympiad (WRCSO). The event took place from July 7 to 10, 2026, at the Unikom Smart Building in Bandung.
The competition serves as a platform for elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as university undergraduates from various regions and countries, to offer solutions to global challenges. IYSA President Deni Irawan, MPd, explained that these three competitions were designed to give the youth a stage to display their skills in science, technology, and innovation. Beyond gaining experience in presenting their research, participants had the opportunity to sharpen their communication skills, broaden their research perspectives, build self-confidence, and network internationally with fellow innovators.
“Our synergy with Unikom reflects our shared commitment to provide a meaningful space for the younger generation to cultivate their potential and explore scientific knowledge. Ultimately, this will foster innovations that bring positive impacts and benefits to society,” Deni stated at the Unikom Smart Building on Jalan Dipati Ukur, Bandung, on Friday, July 10, 2026.
Deni also emphasized the importance of originality in every contested project. The entries underwent a rigorous judging process, with evaluation metrics covering presentation skills, methodology, and practical real-world applications.
Prof. Lia Warlina, the Dean of Unikom’s Faculty of Design, added that the collaboration between Unikom and IYSA underscores the university’s dedication to nurturing young talent through national and international scientific competitions.
