CIREBON NEWS – The United States (US) Navy is still activating a blockade of Iranian ports. Tankers and cargo ships wishing to enter or leave Iranian ports were ordered to turn back.
A number of ships that tried to break through the blockade were hit by warning shots. The US military even seized an Iranian ship, which Tehran immediately condemned as an act of piracy and a violation of international law.
In the latest incident, US forces have disabled the Palauan-flagged oil tanker, M/T Marivex, in the Gulf of Oman after allegedly trying to break through a naval blockade against Iran.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the M/T Marivex was previously warned but the crew ignored it. The ship continued to move and tried to break through the blockade.
According to CENTCOM, a US Navy F/A 18 fighter jet from the USS Abraham Lincoln “fired precision munitions” at the ship’s engines and rudder after the crew failed to comply with orders.
The command said it had disabled seven “non-compliant” ships and diverted 134 other ships since the blockade was imposed April 13, 2026.

The Marivex, which was under US sanctions targeting Iran and was sailing without a cargo, was previously reported to have caught fire off the coast of Oman.
Indian authorities said all 24 crew members had been rescued, and the incident remained under investigation.
Flight restrictions in Iran have been lifted and the country’s airspace has returned to normal operations, Iranian state media reported.

Earlier on Monday, all flights to and from Iranian airports were halted amid fears of further Israeli attacks.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later confirmed that attacks on Iran had stopped, while warning that attacks would resume if Tehran “resumes attacks against us”.
