LEBAK PORTAL – United States President Donald Trump announced he had decided to postpone ‘Project Freedom’, which aims to protect freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, in the hope of establishing a peace deal with Iran.
“In line with requests from Pakistan and other countries, and considering the extraordinary success we have achieved in military operations against Iran,” said US President Donald Trump on his Truth Social account.
“This includes the fact that we have made significant progress toward a comprehensive agreement with representatives of Iran,” added Donald Trump.

“We mutually agreed that, although the blockade would remain fully implemented, Project Freedom (ship movements in the Strait of Hormuz) would be temporarily suspended to see if a deal (peace with Iran) could be finalized and signed,” Trump added.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched simultaneous attacks on various targets in Iran, including in Tehran, resulting in damage and heavy civilian casualties.
In response, Iran carried out attacks on Israeli areas as well as American military facilities in the Middle East as an act of self-defense.

Increased tensions around Iran have led to a de facto blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which is a vital route for shipping oil and liquefied natural gas from the Persian Gulf region to world markets, resulting in rising oil prices and economic pressure in a number of regions.***
