BANDUNG, PRFMNEWS – Saturday 30 May 2026 morning, the grounds of the An-Nur Mosque in Dili City, Timor Leste, looked busier than usual.
That day is the last day of tasyrik, the final moment for Muslims to express their gratitude through the ritual of slaughtering sacrificial animals.
Under the auspices of DT Peduli’s Qurban Impact program, the kindness of the campuri (sacrificers) from Indonesia flows far across national borders, bringing smiles to the hearts of different parts of the world.

For most of the 145 beneficiaries around Dili City, it was a happy day because they got meat that they rarely tasted.
In the midst of economic constraints, beef or mutton is a luxury that is rarely found on their dinner plates.
“This Qurban assistance is very important because not all of the beneficiaries eat meat every day. But at least, on the happy Eid al-Adha, they will also be happy by tasting sacrificial meat,” said Usman Bobarau, a local resident and qurban committee member from the An-Nur Foundation.

Moving Silent Between Happiness
So that the donor’s trust is right on target and maintains the honor of the recipients, the committee does not let residents queue in long lines under the hot sun.
Armed with verified data, volunteers moved to knock on door after door of the homes of the poor, widows and orphans in remote areas of Dili.
The volunteers’ footsteps were greeted with sparkling eyes and emotion. Sincere prayers flowed spontaneously from the lips of those who received the benefits.
“Thank you very much for your sending from ladies and gentlemen from Indonesia who have made sacrifices. I hope your sustenance goes smoothly, amen,” said one mother with her eyes sparkling with happiness.
Similar expressions of gratitude rang out from other recipients. A father, joyfully receiving the sacrificial package, whispered quietly and solemnly.
“Thank you very much. May your deeds of worship be accepted by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. May your sustenance increase. Thank you, jazakallahu khair,” he said.

Crossing National Borders
Timor Leste is one of 30 countries reached by the DT Peduli Qurban Impact program this year. Geographical distance and national boundaries have proven to be no barrier to bridges of concern.
Through professional and trustworthy management, DT Peduli ensures that the essence of qurban, namely sharing piety and happiness, can be felt by minority Muslim brothers and sisters in need.
The sun slowly sets over the horizon in Dili City, marking the end of the Tasyrik day. However, the warmth from the homeland sent through sacrificial meat will continue to leave an impression, warming their kitchens and hearts for days to come.***
