JOGJA PORTAL – The Minister of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, Tawfig Al-Rabiah, conducted a direct inspection of the readiness of congregational tents in the Mina area ahead of the 1447 Hijriah Hajj season. This activity is part of a series of field visits carried out to ensure all aspects of service to the congregation run optimally, starting from accommodation facilities, logistics systems, to managing the flow of congregation movements. He emphasized that preparations for this year’s Hajj season had started long beforehand, involving intensive coordination between relevant agencies to increase overall operational readiness.

Quoted from the Saudi Press Agency on Wednesday (22/4/2026), Al-Rabiah said that improving service quality is the main focus of the Saudi Arabian government, especially in dealing with the number of pilgrims which continues to increase every year. Various innovations were implemented, including the use of digital technology to support efficiency and safety. During this year’s Hajj season, the government introduced a new electronic system designed to monitor the movement of pilgrims in real-time, as well as regulate the flow in and out of the tent area in Mina to make it more orderly and controlled.

Apart from that, a number of supporting infrastructure has also been improved, including the installation of information boards and directional signs at strategic points, such as the entrance and exit to the tent area. The board contains various important information, including the congregation’s departure and return schedule, as well as instructions that must be followed while at the location. This step is expected to help the congregation understand the flow of movement, while minimizing the potential for excessive density in certain areas.

This effort is part of the Saudi Arabian government’s grand strategy to manage crowds more effectively, considering that Mina is one of the most congested points during the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage. With more structured and technology-based management, it is hoped that the risk of security and safety disturbances can be reduced significantly.

Furthermore, Al-Rabiah emphasized that all the steps taken were in line with the government’s commitment to improving the quality of the Hajj pilgrimage from year to year. This is also part of the implementation of the big vision of Saudi Vision 2030, especially in the Pilgrim Experience Program which aims to provide the best, safe and comfortable services for all pilgrims from various countries.

With various thorough preparations and the support of modern technology, the Saudi Arabian government is optimistic that the implementation of the 1447 Hijri Hajj pilgrimage will be more orderly, safe and provide a better spiritual experience for the millions of pilgrims who come to the Holy Land. ***
