CIREBON NEWS – The United States (US) and Israel are preparing a second joint attack to destroy several targets in Iran. The attack is expected as early as next week, following a deadlock in peace talks between Washington and Tehran.
Meanwhile, Iran has prepared for all possibilities, including responding to US plans to renew military attacks. So far, Tehran does not trust the US to bring about peace.
The New York Times (NYT), citing US official sources, reported that there would be further attacks on Iran after the ceasefire became increasingly fragile. The US and Israel have reactivated hostilities in the Middle East.

To date, both the US and Iran have repeatedly rejected the other’s demands as unrealistic. Tehran and Washington still insist they are in control.
Meanwhile, disruptions continue in the Strait of Hormuz, severely affecting global shipping and causing oil shortages worldwide.
Although Iran has announced its own mechanism to regulate maritime traffic in the waterway, Washington has rejected the scheme and imposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports in retaliation.

Two unnamed Middle Eastern officials told the NYT on Friday that preparations for a new attack by Israel and the US have greatly accelerated in recent days, and the conflict could resume as early as next week, according to the sources.
Those options could include “more aggressive bomb attacks” against Iranian military targets and infrastructure sites, unnamed US officials told the newspaper.
Another option involves a raid to seize Tehran’s stockpile of enriched uranium, believed to be buried underground following the US bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities in June 2025.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to renew attacks on Iran, increasingly voicing his dissatisfaction with Tehran’s proposals.
Trump blasted Iran’s response to the American proposal last weekend, calling it “garbage” and denouncing the current ceasefire as woefully weak.
Tehran says it is ready to provide an appropriate response to any aggression. They have expressed caution about stalled negotiations but have shown a willingness to engage in diplomacy.
“We have every reason not to trust America,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday. “There is no military solution, and the US must understand this reality. They cannot achieve their goals through military action, but the situation will be different if they take the diplomatic route,” he concluded.***
