CIREBON NEWS – Indonesia lost three TNI soldiers serving as UN peacekeepers in Lebanon. It is suspected that the three died as a result of an Israeli attack on Lebanese Hezbollah fighters.
The three victims, namely Major Inf (Anm) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, Chief Sergeant (Anm) Muhammad Nur Ichwan and Corporal Two (Anm) Farizal Rhomadon.
Indra Marpaung, a journalist from RT.com, reported that Indonesia had held a military funeral for Major Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, one of three Indonesian UNIFIL peacekeepers who died in Lebanon.
Their deaths have raised concerns over the safety of UN troops in one of the longest peacekeeping missions ever undertaken. Now the conflict in Lebanon is escalating as Israel and Hezbollah exchange fire.
Hezbollah involved itself in the conflict in the Middle East by helping the Iranian military carry out coordinated attacks on a number of Israeli territories. Meanwhile, Israel carried out a ground attack towards the Lebanese border.
