THE MIND OF THE PEOPLE – The President of the United States, Donald Trump issued a strong threat against Iran in a press conference at the White House on Monday, April 6 2026. Trump emphasized that Iran could be destroyed in one night if it did not fulfill the ultimatum he set to reopen the Strait of Hormuz before 20.00 Eastern United States time on Tuesday, April 7 2026.
“The entire country could be destroyed in one night, and that night may be the night of tomorrow,” Trump said as quoted by The Guardian.
Trump also said the US had prepared a plan to paralyze all bridges and power plants in Iran in about four hours. He emphasized that the attack would occur if Iran did not open the Strait of Hormuz according to the deadline, but said the US did not want that to happen.

The press conference was also marked by the announcement of the successful rescue of the crew of the two US F-15 fighter planes that were shot down over Iranian territory last week. Trump called this operation a historic mission. The two crew members reportedly managed to eject before the plane crashed and landed on Iranian territory.
The second crew member who was rescued, Trump said, was seriously injured and trapped for almost 48 hours. According to Trump, the crew climbed the cliff while continuing to bleed in order to send a location signal to the rescue team.
Rescue teams reportedly came under heavy fire during the operation and a helicopter reportedly suffered damage from enemy fire.
